Employee Registration
As per Section 4 of the Kerala Tailoring Workers’ Welfare Fund Act, a tailoring worker who had completed 18 years of age can register as a member of the Kerala Tailoring Workers' Welfare Fund Board . The application for registration can be submitted online through the software of the Welfare Fund Board.
1. Age Proof (SSLC Certificate/ElectionID Card/Passport/Aadhar/School Certificate/Transfer Certificate/ a Certificate issued by the Central/State Government in which the date of birth is recorded).
2. Employment Certificate (An employment Certificate issued by the Trade Union/Assistant Labour Officer/Employer should also be uploaded along with the application)
Rs. 30/- as the registration fee and Rs.600/- as the annual contribution (@ Rs. 50/ month) should also be remitted along with the application. Registration will be granted after a practical test conducted at the District Executive Officer Level to verify whether the applicant is a tailoring worker or not.
Employer Registration
The Registration Fee for an employer is based on the number of workers' employed under each employer. If the number of tailoring workers' employed by an employer is 5, then the registration fee is Rs.150/- and if the number is above that Rs. 15 should be paid for each tailoring worker upto a maximum of Rs. 300 as registration fee.
Contribution
Each tailoring worker is required to pay a monthly contribution of Rs. 50/- only. But the employer should pay the monthly contribution in respect of all the tailoring workers' employed under him along with his own contribution of Rs. 25/month before the 10 th of the next month. If the tailoring workers' are willing to pay their contribution themselves then the employer has to pay his contribution only. A self employed tailoring worker should remit the monthly contribution before the 5 th of the next month , the failure of which will attract a fine of Rs.5/month.
